What to check before you buy
- Card rates. The pack page should show its value ranges and how often each one comes up, before you pay.
- The trade-in offer. See what it is a share of, how long it stays open and whether it pays money or site credit. How to judge a trade-in offer shows how to set one beside recent sales.
- Shipping and the vault. Check the fulfillment fee to ship a card home and how long the site keeps a card for you. Vault or ship it home? helps you choose.
- Fees after the pack price. Look for a fee to add money, to sell a card or to move money out. Rip site fees explained maps each one.

Frequently asked questions
What is a card rip?
A card rip is buying a pack of real cards on a rip site. The site assigns your card from the pack's listed pool when your payment goes through, and the card waits in its vault until you keep it there, ship it home or take the site's trade-in offer.
How is an online card rip different from a live break?
In a live break, a breaker opens sealed boxes or cases on a stream, and each buyer receives the cards that match the spot they bought, often a team. In an online rip, the site assigns one of the cards it already holds as soon as you pay.
How does Rip.fan choose which sites to rank?
We rank a site once we have scored it out of 10 on the same eight criteria, from our own test or its published facts, and each review says which.
