How we tested

We have opened more than 4,000 packs on Rips by Triumph, all in its iPhone app. We looked at the trade-in offer on our cards, had cards shipped home and kept the box they came in. The app screenshots on this page come from our own use of the app, and the photo of the box is ours too. This review is a human and AI collaboration: our own test purchases supplied the screenshots and notes, and AI wrote the review from them.

What stood out

The opening animations stand out right away, with a scene of its own for each kind of card. A One Piece pack opens inside a wooden chest under water, all iron corners and skull and crossbones. A Pokémon pack glows orange against a field of stars, and the card flips over from a patterned back with the Triumph mark, silver on one of our packs and gold on another.

The opening animations in the app

Shipping impressed us just as much, and the packs have felt honest to us. The perks program is very good too. We are still waiting on a major grail, but our best card so far was worth about $1,800.

  • The perks screen in the Rips by Triumph app: an invite card offering a free pack to you and a friend you refer, with a referral code and an Invite button.

The perks screen opens with a referral offer that gives you and a friend a free pack each.

How it works

Rips by Triumph sells packs of real cards that sit in its vault until you ship them or trade them in. You buy and open packs in its iPhone or Android app, and the iPhone version needs iOS 17 or later. The packs cover Pokémon, One Piece, baseball, basketball and football.

Each pack’s page shows its art, a link to what is inside, and the lowest and highest card value it can give. A card comes either graded or raw, and the raw ones come as they are. A showroom tab sets out graded cards from each kind of pack.

  1. Pick a pack. On a Pokémon pack, the app laid out a row of glowing packs to choose from.
  2. Open it. An animation runs, the back of the card shows, then the card. The animation is only for show and does not change which card you get.
  3. See the value. The result screen showed the card, its value in the app and two buttons: sell it back, or keep it in the vault.
  4. Decide. Selling opens a sheet that names the offer and asks you to accept it.
Opening a Pokémon pack

The offer on our card matched the value the app showed for it. The two cards we opened from the One Piece Starter Pack and the Pokémon Starter Pack were both raw.

Cards you have shipped get their own tab in your collection, apart from the ones still in the vault. Ours include PSA graded baseball cards and a PSA graded Pokémon card.

  • Two graded baseball cards in their slabs, listed under the Shipped tab of the collection screen in the Rips by Triumph iPhone app.
  • Four graded baseball cards in their slabs under the Shipped tab of our collection in the Rips by Triumph app, each with its name below it.

Trade-in offers and selling

Every card you open comes with an offer at the value it had when you bought the pack. A card can stay in the app for at most seven days before the app trades it in at that value, so ship anything you want to keep within the week.

Triumph sets those values itself, so check a valuable card against its recent sales before you take an offer. Our guide on how to judge a trade-in offer shows how.

You can also sell graded cards of your own to Triumph in person, at card shows and other collector events, for store credit in the app. The credit only buys products there, never expires and carries no fees.

Money in your balance can go out to a bank account, a debit card, PayPal or Venmo once you pass an identity check, which usually takes a day. An instant transfer lands in about ten minutes for a small fee. A bank transfer takes one to three business days, sometimes up to five.

Fees and shipping

There is no fee on top of the pack price, but each card ships in its own package to a US address, and each one carries a $6 flat shipping fee, which you can pay by credit card or from your account balance.

Our UPS tracking number arrived within two days of the request. The cards came in a black box with the orange Triumph mark on the lid.

Sales tax, where it applies, comes out of your balance before the card ships. You can add insurance, and a card over a set value has to ship insured. Before your first shipment you need to pass an identity check too.

If a package has not moved for 5 business days, contact support in the app, and report a damaged or wrong card within 10 business days. A package marked delivered but missing goes to the carrier. Our guide to shipping a graded card home covers what to check when a card arrives.

Support and track record

Support runs through a button in the app, with an email address for anyone who cannot open it and a toll-free phone number too.

On October 21, 2026, the iPhone version held a 4.7 rating from 238K ratings and sat at number 11 on the App Store’s Shopping chart, and the Android version held 4.6 from 65.6K reviews with more than 1 million downloads. New versions were coming out about once a week.

What other collectors say

  • Fast shipping. Several App Store reviewers say their cards arrived quickly.
  • One package per card. A reviewer on each store objects to paying to ship every card on its own, and the Android one also wants longer to decide before a card is traded in.
  • Automated support. Reviewers on both stores say replies came from an automated chat and a person was hard to reach.
  • The look of the app. Two App Store reviewers praise its presentation and its card flip animation.
  • Easy to start. Reviewers on both stores say it was simple to pick up.

Who it suits

Rips by Triumph suits collectors who enjoy watching a pack open as much as owning the card inside.

  • A raw One Piece card, not graded, shown in the Rips by Triumph iPhone app as soon as its pack opened.

Phygitals also shipped our cards quickly, so read our Phygitals review or the Phygitals and Rips by Triumph comparison if you are choosing between them.
