About Rip.fan
Last updated
Rip.fan is a publication for collectors who buy sealed packs, slab packs and mystery boxes, online and off. We explain how ripping platforms work, what they charge, how vaulting and shipping work, and what the day’s news means for your collection.
What we cover
- News about ripping platforms, marketplaces, grading companies, retail releases and the apps collectors use.
- Guides that answer one question each, from how a vaulted card gets to your door to how to read a grading company’s price sheet.
- Rankings and reviews of the platforms that pass our listing checks. Most are scored from our own use of the platform, and some partners from their published pages; each review says which.
- A shop of the packs our partner platforms sell, built from each platform’s own pack pages with the date we read them.
How we are funded
Rip.fan is funded by partner commissions, and by sponsored content and advertising as we open them. Sponsored articles are labeled on the page, and advertisers never see or approve editorial content before it publishes. Read our Editorial Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.
How we work
Rip.fan’s content is a human and AI collaboration. People set the site’s focus, set the editorial rules and run the hands-on tests behind most of our reviews; a few reviews rest on a site’s published pages alone, and say so. AI researches the public sources behind each story, drafts in our house style and runs automated accuracy and policy checks before a piece publishes. Articles carry the Rip.fan Editorial Team byline. Illustrations are generated for Rip.fan, and each story’s lead image is credited. How We Rate explains how platforms are scored.
