Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man went on sale in stores on September 26, 2025, under the set code SPM. It is a Universes Beyond set, with Gwen Stacy, Miles Morales and Spider-Man himself, and villains including Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Venom. The set has 300 entries, yet it holds 193 different cards over 285 collector numbers. Both faces of a double-faced card get their own entry, which explains the gap between entries and numbers, and many cards appear again at higher numbers, which explains the rest.

When did Marvel’s Spider-Man come out?

The set went on sale in 2025.

What Date
Debut August 29
Card previews September 1 to 5
Prerelease events September 19 to 21
Set release, in stores September 26, 2025
Marvel Legends figures with promo cards October 1
Gift Bundle October 17, no year given

Wizards first showed cards from the set at a San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 25, 2025. By Rip.fan’s arithmetic, the set came 8 weeks before Avatar: The Last Airbender (November 21, 2025). Our Magic set release dates guide covers the full calendar.

Why does the set have 300 entries?

Because 15 of the set’s 285 collector numbers carry a double-faced card, and each face gets its own entry, numbered with an a and a b. So 285 numbers plus 15 second faces gives 300.

The 15 numbers hold five different cards, all Mythic Rare at their first number:

Card First number Later numbers
Peter Parker // Amazing Spider-Man 10 208 and 232
Norman Osborn // Green Goblin 39 220
Eddie Brock // Venom, Lethal Protector 55 224 and 233
Gwen Stacy // Ghost-Spider 78 202 and 209
Miles Morales // Ultimate Spider-Man 108 200, 211 and 234

When you look up one of these, search under both names and check the number.

How is Marvel’s Spider-Man numbered?

The collector numbers group like this:

Collector numbers Printings What sits there
1 to 188 188 Every card except the basic lands, from Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer at 1
189 to 193 5 The five basic lands
194 to 198 5 The basic lands again
199 to 234 36 Repeats, including ten printings of the five double-faced cards
235 to 241 7 Spectacular Spider-Man, seven more times
242 to 243 2 The Soul Stone, twice more
244 to 281 38 Repeats in the order of the main run, from Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer to Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider
282 to 283 2 Oscorp Industries and Urban Retreat again
284 to 285 2 Spider-Sense and Radioactive Spider again

No card first appears above 193, and the numbers run from 1 to 285 with no gaps.

In all, 117 cards have one printing, 66 have two, 8 have three and one has four: Miles Morales // Ultimate Spider-Man. One card has eight. Spectacular Spider-Man, a Rare at 14, appears again at every number from 235 to 241, the most printings of any card in the four sets compared below.

What rarities are in Marvel’s Spider-Man?

Rarity Cards in SPM
Common 60
Uncommon 55
Rare 53
Mythic Rare 15
Land 10

The five rarities add up to the 193 cards, so no card sits at two rarities. The ten Land cards are the five basics and five nonbasic lands: Ominous Asylum at 181 and Savage Mansion, Sinister Hideout, Suburban Sanctuary and University Campus at 183 to 186. Our Magic card rarities guide shows each rarity symbol.

What products came out for Marvel’s Spider-Man?

Six:

  • Collector Boosters, holding Classic Comic, Scene, Borderless Panel and Web-slinger cards. Across all sets, a Collector Booster holds 5 to 6 cards of rare or higher and 8 to 10 foil cards or more.
  • Play Boosters, with Web-slinger and Borderless Panel cards among their treatments. Each pack holds at least one card of rare or higher and at least one foil card.
  • Scene Box, with six Borderless Scene cards that fit together into one picture.
  • Bundle. A Bundle is packed with Play Boosters and holds a foil alternate-art promo card.
  • Gift Bundle, dated October 17.
  • Prerelease Pack.

Wizards also ran a Secret Lair superdrop for the set; our Secret Lair guide explains how those drops work.

What are the Marvel Legends promo cards?

Wizards’ July 25, 2025 post said each Marvel Legends figure, due on October 1, would include a borderless promo card in traditional foil, its art matching the figure. Three of the cards are in the main set: Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade; Spectacular Spider-Man; and Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer. The post names a fourth card that is not in the set and says Wizards chose it to show Man-Wolf.

Which other code shares the name?

A second group of 26 cards shares the set name, with the code SPE. It holds cards such as Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O’Hara and Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and none of its 26 names appears on the SPM list. Check that a listing names the code.

How does Marvel’s Spider-Man compare with the sets after it?

The four sets of late 2025 and early 2026 side by side:

Spider-Man Avatar Lorwyn Eclipsed TMNT

What should you check before you buy?

  • SPM or SPE. Both codes carry the set’s name.
  • Both names on a double-faced card. Peter Parker and Amazing Spider-Man are the same card.
  • The number on Spectacular Spider-Man. It has eight printings, at 14 and 235 to 241.
  • The finish on The Soul Stone. The Cosmic Foil version comes only from Collector Boosters, and the card sits at 66, 242 and 243.
  • Promo or set card. A Marvel Legends promo came with a figure.
  • Factory wrap on any booster box or other sealed product; see our guide to storing sealed product.

How do you check Spider-Man card prices?

Rip.fan’s card price lookup and price pages hold English Pokémon cards only. For a Spider-Man card, start from the code and collector number, since Spectacular Spider-Man alone has eight. Then take only dated sold listings for that printing, finish and language. Our guides to checking Magic card prices, finding what a card sold for and spotting fake Magic cards cover the method, and the seller fee calculator shows what TCGplayer and Whatnot leave you after fees. Our Play Booster and Collector Booster entries, the Magic Collector Boosters guide and the trading card hub cover the rest.
