In more detail

Wizards calls Secret Lair an official sub-brand of Magic. Each drop is a short run of cards, usually 4 to 8, made with an artist, a creator or a brand. Some look like standard Magic cards with new art, and others might look like pop art or photographs.

Drops sell first on the Secret Lair website during a limited sale, in foil and non-foil. Most drops are a limited print run, printed before the sale starts, which speeds up shipping but can sell out sooner, while some stay print on demand.

An order stays a preorder until it is charged, just before its release date, and a sale generally closes at 9:00am PST on its last day. Select drops that include cards new to Magic reach WPN members through distributors in non-foil a few weeks after the initial release. Name the drop as well as the card when you buy or sell a single from one.
