Duskmourn: House of Horror went on sale on September 27, 2024, under the set code DSK, a week after its Prerelease events began. Its setting is a house that covers an entire plane and brings nightmares to life. The set holds 276 different cards over 417 collector numbers, and its two-part room cards carry two names each.
When did Duskmourn come out?
| What | Date |
|---|---|
| Debut | August 31, 2024 |
| Prerelease events | September 20 to 27 |
| Set release | September 27, 2024 |
| Nightmare Bundle | October 18 |
Duskmourn followed Bloomburrow (August 2, 2024) and came before Magic: The Gathering Foundations (November 15, 2024). The release has three codes: DSK for the main set, DSC for its Commander cards and SPG for Special Guests. Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander is a separate listing, with 379 cards. Our Magic set release dates guide covers the 2025 to 2027 sets.
Which Duskmourn cards are room cards?
34 of its 417 collector numbers each carry a two-part card with two names side by side, such as Dazzling Theater // Prop Room at 3. These are Room cards. Twenty-three different room cards sit in the main run; ten of them come back at 334 to 343, and one more, Grand Entryway // Elegant Rotunda, at 287.
The 23 room cards split into 7 Common, 6 Uncommon, 5 Rare and 5 Mythic Rare. A listing may name either half, so search both names, and check the number.
How is Duskmourn numbered?
Collector numbers run from 1 to 417 with no gaps. They group like this, with the treatments Wizards shows for the cards it pictures by number:
| Collector numbers | Printings | What they hold, and what the first look pictures |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 276 | 276 | Every card in the set, with 17 nonbasic lands at 255 to 271 and the basic lands at 272 to 276, which the first look pictures as full-art manor lands |
| 277 to 286 | 10 | Basic lands again, two more of each type |
| 287 to 333 | 47 | Repeats of earlier cards; the first look pictures 309 and 314 as paranormal frame cards |
| 334 to 343 | 10 | Ten room cards again |
| 344 to 350 | 7 | Repeats; 346 and 348 are pictured as mirror monster cards |
| 351 to 385 | 35 | Repeats; 356 is pictured as a double exposure card |
| 386 to 395 | 10 | The five Enduring and five Overlord cards; 390 and 395 are pictured as Japan Showcase cards |
| 396 to 405 | 10 | The same ten again; 400 and 405 are pictured under the Japan Showcase heading |
| 406 to 410 | 5 | The five cards from 351 to 355 again; 407 is pictured as a textured foil double exposure card |
| 411 to 417 | 7 | Repeats; 417, Twitching Doll, is pictured as the Buy-a-Box promo |
No card first appears above 276, so every high number reprints a card from the main run. The table states a treatment only for the numbers the first look pictures. 177 cards have one printing, 68 have two, 20 have three and 11 have four. The four-printing group is the five Enduring cards, the five Overlords and Kaito, Bane of Nightmares, at 220, 328, 354 and 409.
What rarities are in Duskmourn?
| Rarity | Cards in DSK | At that rarity at their first number, 1 to 276 |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 81 | 81 |
| Uncommon | 100 | 100 |
| Rare | 60 | 60 |
| Mythic Rare | 25 | 20 |
| Land | 15 | 15 (10 nonbasic lands, such as Lakeside Shack, and the 5 basics) |
The first column comes to 281, five more than the 276 cards. The extra five are the Enduring cards, each Rare at its first number and Mythic Rare at a second:
| Card | Rare printing | Mythic Rare printing | Other printings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enduring Innocence | 6 | 386 | 368 and 396 |
| Enduring Curiosity | 51 | 388 | 371 and 398 |
| Enduring Tenacity | 95 | 390 | 374 and 400 |
| Enduring Courage | 133 | 392 | 378 and 402 |
| Enduring Vitality | 176 | 394 | 381 and 404 |
Enduring Tenacity at 390 is one of the cards the first look pictures as a Japan Showcase card. Our Magic card rarities guide shows each rarity symbol.
Which treatments did Duskmourn bring?
| Treatment | Where it is found | Number pictured |
|---|---|---|
| Full-art manor lands | Play Boosters and Collector Boosters | 272 to 276 |
| Paranormal frame | Play Boosters and Collector Boosters | 309 and 314 |

| Double exposure | Play Boosters and Collector Boosters | 356 |

| Japan Showcase | Collector Boosters | 390 and 395 |

Japan Showcase was new with this set. It brought art by Japanese artists and a new kind of foil, fracture foil. Japanese-language Collector Boosters hold Japanese versions in traditional and fracture foil; in Collector Boosters of every other language, the card rate is 67% for English versions and 33% for Japanese ones. There are 10 new Special Guest cards. For how foils differ, see our Magic foil types guide.
What products came out for Duskmourn?
- Play Boosters, with the Special Guest cards.
- Collector Boosters, holding the treatments above. Across all sets, a Collector Booster holds 5 to 6 cards of rare or higher and 8 to 10 foil cards or more.
- Commander Decks: four decks, each of 100 cards with 8 new Commander cards and 2 new foil cards in borderless frames.
- Bundle: nine Play Boosters, 30 lands with ten of them full-art, and a special accessory.
- Nightmare Bundle, out October 18: Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, full-art manor lands in traditional foil, posters, an oversized glow-in-the-dark accessory and a Nightmare Booster.
- Prerelease Pack, for events from September 20.
Stores also ran a Buy-a-Box offer while supplies lasted: a traditional foil extended-art Twitching Doll with art by John Tedrick, and, for a sealed display of Play Boosters or Collector Boosters, one English Collector Booster as well, for in-store purchase or pickup only. Our Play Booster and Collector Booster entries and our Magic Collector Boosters guide explain the two pack types.
What should you check before you buy?
- DSK, DSC or SPG. This release has three codes, so a listing should say which one it means.
- Both room names. A seller may list a room card under either half.
- The rarity symbol on 386, 388, 390, 392 and 394. The five Enduring cards are Mythic Rare at those numbers and Rare at their first number.
- The language. A Japan Showcase card from an English Collector Booster may be in Japanese, so a listing should say which.
- Factory wrap on any booster box or other sealed product; see our guide to storing sealed product.
How do you check Duskmourn card prices?
Rip.fan’s card price lookup and price pages hold English Pokémon cards only. For a Duskmourn card, start from the code and collector number: Enduring Curiosity at 51 is a Rare and at 388 a Mythic Rare. Then take only dated sold listings for that printing, finish and language. Our guides to checking Magic card prices, finding what a card sold for and spotting fake Magic cards cover the method, and the seller fee calculator shows what TCGplayer and Whatnot leave you after fees.
The set before it has its own guide, Bloomburrow, with a side-by-side count of the two sets. New collectors can start with our guide to starting a Magic collection, and the trading card hub gathers the rest.
