In more detail

Wizards' product guide has a Special Frames section that begins with Showcase and Masterpiece frames, and it lists showcase cards among the special features of Collector Boosters.

The fan-run MTG Wiki says showcase cards began with Throne of Eldraine as part of Booster Fun, and that each premier set has its own showcase frame built around the set's theme, starting with the Storybook frame of Throne of Eldraine. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, for example, promised nine showcase treatments on its product page.

Showcase cards can carry finishes of their own: Commander Legends introduced the foil-etched treatment on its showcase cards. A showcase card is a version of the card in the set's own frame, so name the frame when you buy or sell one.
