Wizards of the Coast has revealed Star Trek cards ahead of the set’s November 13, 2026 release. The previews include episode-based Sagas, special artwork and Exploratory Mission, a red enchantment at uncommon rarity.
The main set and Commander decks draw from across Star Trek’s series. Captains and supporting characters appear throughout, covering 60 years of the franchise.
Store prerelease events begin on November 6, 2026, leaving 7 days before the full release. The release calendar also lists November 13, 2026, as the store sale date, as of October 12, 2026.
Exploratory Mission uses land entries
Press Start Australia introduced Exploratory Mission. Casting it requires 2 generic and 2 red mana. Its Landfall ability triggers when a land enters under its controller.
Each trigger adds a quest counter to the enchantment. It then exiles cards from the library’s top until it reaches a nonland card. The controller can use that card during the same turn.
If the enchantment has 5 or more quest counters, each Landfall trigger also adds 2 red mana. The counter is added before the ability tests whether the enchantment meets that threshold.
Captains lead the Commander decks
Mr. Spock leads Landing Party, while Captain Picard heads Federation Fleet. The Borg Queen leads the Borg-themed deck, named We Are The Borg. Worf heads Klingon Fury, which has an aggressive focus.
The Commander decks share the November 13, 2026 release date with the set. Seven of Nine also appears among the characters shown in the broader reveal.
Game Rant detailed showcase art that draws on film posters and the Enterprise computer interface. The poster-based treatment carries the Classic Enterprise name. LCARS cards use the onboard computer’s visual style.
Episode references extend to Sagas. One draws on In the Pale Moonlight. Another adapts The City on the Edge of Forever.
Star Trek adds new mechanics
Strange New Worlds uses lands with different names as the basis for its effects. Beam Me Up lets a controller cast spells from the graveyard by moving their creatures back to hand.
Spacecraft artifacts also feature heavily in Star Trek. The card type first appeared in Edge of Eternities.

What to do
- Confirm which Commander deck a listing names: Spock’s Landing Party, Picard’s Federation Fleet, the Borg deck or Worf’s Klingon Fury.
- Ask the store which Star Trek prerelease sessions it offers from November 6, 2026.
- Check whether a showcase card listing names the Classic Enterprise treatment or the LCARS treatment.
