WeirdCo has announced Edgerunners: Burn Bright, bringing the Cyberpunk anime into its second physical card set. The expansion has a spring 2027 release window and will add special card finishes for pack collectors.

The announcement concerns buyers of Cyberpunk TCG booster packs and collectors of the Edgerunners series. The set follows Welcome to Night City, which introduced the game.

Edgerunners characters and equipment

Edgerunners: Burn Bright draws on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the animated series on Netflix. Characters from the anime will appear alongside scenes adapted for the cards. Weapons and cyberware from the series are also part of the set’s subject matter.

CD PROJEKT RED and WeirdCo announced the expansion together. The collaboration also involves TRIGGER, the animation studio behind the series.

The expansion builds on the foundation of Welcome to Night City. It will add new mechanics as well as material drawn from the anime.

Foil, texture and a new rarity

Booster packs will contain cards with foil finishes and textured treatments, according to Star City Games. The announcement describes those treatments alongside a new rarity for collectors.

WeirdCo plans to explain the new rarity at a later date. The announcement included no previews of individual cards.

Welcome to Night City prerelease events are scheduled for October 2026, ahead of the Edgerunners expansion’s spring 2027 release window.

English and French editions first

English and French are the initial release languages, with Chinese following afterward, according to ICv2. The spring 2027 window covers the expansion’s release; the language rollout starts with those English and French editions.

What to do

  • Check which language an Edgerunners: Burn Bright listing specifies.
  • Ask whether a seller’s finish description refers to foil, texture or the new rarity.
  • Confirm that a listing offers Edgerunners: Burn Bright, not the debut set, Welcome to Night City.
