It brought the first location cards, and DuckTales, TaleSpin and Treasure Planet were among the Disney stories joining Lorcana with it. It was the first set to carry 18 Enchanted printings, after 12 in each of the first two, and the first whose Enchanted cards were not all characters.
When did Into the Inklands come out?
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Hobby stores | February 23, 2024 |
| Mass retailers worldwide | March 8, 2024 |
Into the Inklands sits between Rise of the Floodborn, released November 17, 2023, and the fourth set, released May 17, 2024. Our guide to Lorcana set release dates sets these dates beside every later set.
Ravensburger revealed all the set’s cards in its companion app, except the Enchanted printings, which it left for fans to find.
What is the set about?
Recovering lost lore. The story has you cross the Inklands in search of lore scattered by a recent flood. Kit Cloudkicker and Jim Hawkins are among the new characters.
The standard cards hold 107 character names, and 69 of them appear on no character card in the first two sets. Among the newcomers are Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby Vanderquack, Kit Cloudkicker, Jim Hawkins, Captain Amelia, Milo Thatch and Kida. The other 38 names come back in new versions, and no card repeats an earlier card’s full name. Eleven names, among them Kida, Milo Thatch and Kit Cloudkicker, have three versions each, the most in the set.
How many cards are in Into the Inklands?
| Card numbers | Printings | What they are |
|---|---|---|
| 3-1 to 3-204 | 204 | Standard cards: 72 Common, 54 Uncommon, 48 Rare, 18 Super Rare and 12 Legendary |
| 3-205 to 3-222 | 18 | Enchanted printings of standard cards |
The standard cards are 144 characters, 24 actions (11 of them songs), 18 items and 18 locations. Each ink fills one block of 34 numbers, from Amber at 3-1 to 3-34 through to Steel at 3-171 to 3-204. Inside each block the characters come first, then the actions, then the items, then the locations, each run in name order.
One number looks different. Card 4 is 3-4a, Dalmatian Puppy - Tail Wagger, with one printing. It is the only number with a letter in Sets 1 to 13, so match the full printed number, letter included. Our card number entry defines the term.

Where are the location cards?
At the end of every ink block. Each ink has three locations, one Common, one Uncommon and one Rare, on the last three numbers of its block: 3-32 to 3-34 for Amber, 3-66 to 3-68 for Amethyst, and so on to 3-202 to 3-204 for Steel. None is a Super Rare or Legendary. Examples include Pride Lands - Pride Rock (3-33), Kuzco’s Palace - Home of the Emperor (3-102) and McDuck Manor - Scrooge’s Mansion (3-169).
Later sets kept the card type but printed fewer:
| Set | Location cards |
|---|---|
| Into the Inklands (Set 3) | 18 |
| Set 4, Shimmering Skies (Set 5) and Azurite Sea (Set 6) | 12 each |
| Archazia’s Island (Set 7) and Reign of Jafar (Set 8) | None |
| Fabled (Set 9) to Attack of the Vine (Set 13) | 6 to 9 each |
Our guide to Archazia’s Island covers the first of the two sets with none.

So Into the Inklands set the pattern the next four sets kept: 12 Enchanted characters plus 6 Enchanted cards of other types. Our guide to Lorcana Enchanted cards and box contents covers how these printings work across sets.
Did Into the Inklands cards come back later?
Yes. Forty of the 204 standard cards came back under the same full name in Sets 4 to 13:
- 37 in Fabled, Set 9. In May 2025, Ravensburger announced that Fabled would reprint some cards from the first sets, including Enchanted versions of some fan favorites.
- 2 in Winterspell, Set 11. Strike A Good Match at 11-94 and Distract at 11-164, both Commons in both sets.
- 1 in Reign of Jafar, Set 8. Dalmatian Puppy - Tail Wagger, a Common at 8-38.
Two of the Fabled reprints gained an Enchanted printing they never had here: Pongo - Determined Father (Fabled 9-223) and Ariel - Adventurous Collector (9-232). Two of this set’s Enchanted cards came back as standard Fabled cards, Mickey Mouse - Trumpeter at 9-172 and Robin Hood - Champion of Sherwood at 9-177. Five of the 37 changed rarity, among them Mickey Mouse - Trumpeter, a Legendary here and a Super Rare in Fabled. Our Fabled guide covers that set’s reprints from every early set, and our Winterspell guide covers its repeated names.
What came in the sealed products?
The Into the Inklands Illumineer’s Trove is a full-art storage box with 6 ink-themed card dividers, 8 booster packs and small accessories. The Archazia’s Island Trove, four sets later, holds 7 dividers with its 8 packs. Check the wrapper for this set’s pack makeup and box count, and see our guide to Lorcana Enchanted cards and box contents for what a Lorcana pack and booster box usually hold.
What should you check before you buy?
- A 3 in front of the number. It separates this set’s card from a Fabled reprint numbered from 9, or the Winterspell and Reign of Jafar repeats.
- The letter on 3-4a. Match it to the number printed on the card.
- A number above 3-204 for an Enchanted card. The title and the card in the photos should agree.
- Unbroken wrap on sealed product. A sealed product should arrive in its factory wrap.
How do you check Into the Inklands card prices?
Not on Rip.fan, whose card price lookup covers English Pokémon cards only. Use dated sold listings instead. Confirm the 3 in front of the number, then the printing: Mickey Mouse - Trumpeter as a Legendary at 3-182, an Enchanted card at 3-220 and a Fabled Super Rare at 9-172 are three different cards to a buyer. Take prices from completed sales with dates, not from asking prices. Our guides to checking a Lorcana card’s value and finding what a card sold for explain the method, and Lorcana rarities explains each rarity.
The seller fee calculator works out what TCGplayer and Whatnot leave you after fees, and the trading card hub lists our latest trading card guides. For another card game’s early sets, see our guides to One Piece OP-02 and OP-03.
