Rise of the Floodborn is Disney Lorcana’s second set, and it reached local stores on November 17 and mass retailers on December 1, 2023. Ravensburger promised more than 200 cards, with Winnie the Pooh and Tiana making their first appearance in Lorcana and six additional Disney stories joining it. It has 204 standard cards and 12 Enchanted printings, 216 in all, the same totals as The First Chapter. What sets it apart is smaller: its Enchanted numbers do not follow card order.

When did Rise of the Floodborn come out?

Stage Date What went on sale
Local stores November 17 The set
Mass retailers December 1 The set and the Disney100 Edition

Rise of the Floodborn came out on November 17, 2023, after The First Chapter, launched in August 2023, and before Into the Inklands.

Before the mass-retail date, the set was on sale at Disney Retail Stores, Disney Pin Traders at Downtown Disney, the Storybook Store at Disneyland Paris, World of Disney at Disney Springs and hobby retailers. Our guide to Lorcana set release dates sets these dates beside every later set.

What is the set about?

A flood. The six inks were released in a mixed-up form, causing a flood that damaged the Great Illuminary, and the characters that meet that ink are transformed into what Ravensburger calls floodborn glimmers. Six stories join Lorcana:

  • Pinocchio
  • Raya and the Last Dragon
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • The Great Mouse Detective
  • The Jungle Book
  • Zootopia

The standard cards hold 106 character names, and 75 of them appear on no First Chapter character card. Among the newcomers are Winnie the Pooh, Tiana, Snow White, Pinocchio, Judy Hopps, Basil, Baloo and Raya. The other 31 names come back in new versions, and no card repeats a First Chapter card’s full name. Merlin has the most versions in the set, five.

How many cards are in Rise of the Floodborn?

Card numbers Printings What they are
2-1 to 2-204 204 Standard cards: 72 Common, 54 Uncommon, 48 Rare, 18 Super Rare and 12 Legendary
2-205 to 2-216 12 Enchanted printings of standard cards

The standard cards are 159 characters, 27 actions and 18 items. The numbering follows the same plan as The First Chapter: each ink fills one block of 34 numbers, from Amber at 2-1 to 2-34 through to Steel at 2-171 to 2-204, and inside each block the characters come first, then the actions, then the items. Our card number entry explains why the full number matters.

Which cards got Enchanted versions?

There are 12 Enchanted printings:

Enchanted number Card Standard number Standard rarity Ink
2-205 Cinderella - Ballroom Sensation 2-3 Rare Amber
2-206 Snow White - Well Wisher 2-25 Legendary Amber
2-207 Arthur - Wizard’s Apprentice 2-35 Super Rare Amethyst
2-208 Madam Mim - Purple Dragon 2-47 Legendary Amethyst
2-209 Pete - Bad Guy 2-88 Rare Emerald
2-210 Beast - Relentless 2-70 Legendary Emerald
2-211 Lady Tremaine - Imperious Queen 2-110 Super Rare Ruby
2-212 Shere Khan - Menacing Predator 2-126 Rare Ruby
2-213 Alice - Growing Girl 2-137 Legendary Sapphire
2-214 Sisu - Divine Water Dragon 2-159 Legendary Sapphire
2-215 Hercules - Divine Hero 2-181 Rare Steel
2-216 Namaari - Morning Mist 2-189 Legendary Steel

As in The First Chapter, each ink got two and all 12 are characters. Two things differ:

  • More Legendaries. Six of the 12 are Legendary in their standard printing, against 3 in The First Chapter, and only 2 are Super Rares, against 6.
  • One pair out of order. In The First Chapter the Enchanted numbers follow the standard cards. Here Pete - Bad Guy, card 2-88, takes Enchanted number 2-209, ahead of Beast - Relentless, card 2-70, at 2-210. Every other pair follows card order.

So do not work an Enchanted number out from the standard one; read the number printed on the card. At the wide release, Ravensburger’s companion app gained a way to uncover the Enchanted cards. Our Enchanted entry and our guide to Lorcana Enchanted cards and box contents cover the rarity across sets.

How does it compare with the sets on either side?

The First Chapter (Set 1) Rise of the Floodborn (Set 2)
Standard cards 204 204
Enchanted printings 12 12
Enchanted cards that are Legendary in standard form 3 6
Enchanted numbers in card order Yes No
Characters, actions, items 149, 35, 20 159, 27, 18
Names that came back in Fabled 47 36

Into the Inklands (Set 3) has 18 Enchanted printings.

The first two sets are the only main sets with 12 Enchanted printings; every later main set with an Enchanted count has 18. Our First Chapter guide covers the set before in the same detail.

Did Rise of the Floodborn cards come back later?

Yes. Thirty-seven of the 204 standard cards came back under the same full name in Sets 3 to 13: 36 in Fabled, Set 9, and one in Winterspell, Set 11, where HeiHei - Persistent Presence, an Uncommon at 2-43, comes back as a Common at 11-58.

In May 2025, Ravensburger said Fabled would reprint some cards from the first sets, including Enchanted versions of fan favorites. One Rise of the Floodborn card fits that: Winnie the Pooh - Hunny Wizard, a Common here with no Enchanted printing, has one in Fabled at 9-227. Two of this set’s Enchanted cards came back as standard Fabled cards: Shere Khan - Menacing Predator at 9-104 and Alice - Growing Girl at 9-160.

Five of the 36 Fabled reprints changed rarity. Alice - Growing Girl went from Legendary to Super Rare, and Grand Pabbie - Oldest and Wisest from Super Rare to Rare. Our Fabled guide covers the rest of that set’s reprints, and our Winterspell guide covers its four repeated names.

What products came out for Rise of the Floodborn?

Product Contents
Booster packs 12 cards: 1 foil card, 2 that are Legendary, Super Rare or Rare, 3 Uncommon and 6 Common
Booster box 24 individually wrapped booster packs, 288 cards by Rip.fan’s arithmetic
Starter decks Two, by ink pair: Amber and Sapphire, and Amethyst and Steel
Disney100 Edition Six cards from the first two sets with new art by Disney animators, plus four Rise of the Floodborn booster packs
Accessories No detail given

Every card in the set is available as a foil. Each Disney100 card carries a Disney100 frame, a satin holographic foil finish and a printed copy of the animator’s signature, and the collection was due with the wide release on December 1. Those six are alternate art printings, so a listing should say which version it is. Our booster box entry covers the format.

What should you check before you buy?

  1. A 2 in front of the number. It separates this set’s card from a Fabled reprint numbered from 9 or the Winterspell HeiHei at 11-58.
  2. The printed Enchanted number. Pete and Beast swap order, so match the number on the card to the listing.
  3. Disney100 or standard art. The Disney100 frame and animator’s signature mark the collection’s cards.
  4. Unbroken wrap on sealed product. A sealed product should arrive in its factory wrap.

How do you check Rise of the Floodborn card prices?

Not on Rip.fan, whose card price lookup and price pages cover English Pokémon cards only. Use dated sold listings instead. Confirm the 2 in front of the number, then the printing: Alice - Growing Girl as a Legendary at 2-137, an Enchanted card at 2-213 and a Fabled Super Rare at 9-160 are three different cards to a buyer. Take prices from completed sales with dates, not from asking prices. Our guides to checking a Lorcana card’s value and finding what a card sold for explain the method, and Lorcana rarities explains each rarity.

The seller fee calculator works out what TCGplayer and Whatnot leave you after fees, and the trading card hub gathers every Lorcana set guide.
