OP-17, The World’s Strongest Warriors, is a One Piece booster from Bandai. Its English release came on August 28, 2026, after a pre-release on August 21, and its Japanese release on August 22. It has 131 card types plus 4 DON!! cards, with six Leaders and a Rocks Pirates theme, but it comes to 169 entries in English, because many cards also come as alt-arts.
When did OP-17 come out, and what does it cost?
| English | Japanese | |

| Price per pack | USD $4.99 MSRP | 240 yen, tax included |
| Card types | 131+4 | 131+4 |
The English edition had a pre-release on Friday, August 21, 2026, and a Japanese pack holds 6 cards.
For the English pack size, check the wrapper or see our guide to One Piece booster box contents, which sets out the English and Japanese figures. Our One Piece set release dates guide puts OP-17 in the full run from OP-01 to OP-18.
How big is OP-17, and how are its cards numbered?
The set’s own cards run from OP17-001 to OP17-119. That is 95 Characters, 17 Events, 1 Stage and 6 Leaders.
The numbers run in color blocks, and each block opens with its Leader:
| Color | Numbers | Leader | Leader’s crew |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | OP17-001 to 019 | OP17-001, Edward.Newgate | Whitebeard Pirates |
| Green | OP17-020 to 038 | OP17-020, Shanks | Red-Haired Pirates |
| Blue | OP17-039 to 057 | OP17-039, Rocks.D.Xebec | Rocks Pirates |
| Purple | OP17-058 to 078 | OP17-058, Kaido | Animal Kingdom Pirates |
| Black | OP17-079 to 098 | OP17-079, Monkey.D.Luffy | Straw Hat Crew |
| Yellow | OP17-099 to 117 | OP17-099, Charlotte Linlin | Big Mom Pirates |
The last two numbers sit outside the blocks: OP17-118 and OP17-119 are the set’s own Secret Rares. Five of the six Leaders also carry The Four Emperors in their type line; Rocks.D.Xebec’s reads Rocks Pirates alone.
The number tells you the card but not always the version, and the prefix does not always name OP-17. Our card number entry explains the basic idea, using Pokémon’s number-over-total format.
What rarities are in OP-17?
| Rarity | Types | Which cards |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 45 | 45 OP17 numbers |
| Uncommon | 30 | 30 OP17 numbers |
| Rare | 26 | 26 OP17 numbers |
| Super Rare | 10 | 10 OP17 numbers |
| Leader | 6 | The six Leaders above |
| Secret Rare | 3 | OP17-118 (Rocks.D.Xebec), OP17-119 (Loki), and a version of EB04-061 (Monkey.D.Luffy) |
| Special card | 10 | All 10 carry another product’s number |
| Treasure Rare | 1 | A version of OP17-040 (Edward.Newgate) in English |
| DON!! card | 4 | Counted apart from the 131 |
So the 131 types are the 119 OP17 numbers plus 12 extra versions: the 10 Special cards, the Treasure Rare and the EB04-061 Secret Rare. The Treasure Rare is where the two languages part: in Japanese it sits on OP17-033, a Green Rare. Our guide to One Piece rarities shows how each rarity is marked on the card, and Japanese and English One Piece cards covers the other differences.
Which cards are the 10 Special cards?
Each one carries a number from another product, and the card list marks all 10 as SP cards. Bandai also shows a Special card section headed Haki SP. Sorted by the kind of product the number belongs to:
| Kind of product | Special cards in OP-17 |
|---|---|
| Boosters | EB04-007 Roronoa Zoro, OP12-056 Monkey.D.Garp, OP13-028 Shanks, OP14-108 Silvers Rayleigh, OP16-098 Yamato |
| Starter decks | ST27-005 Marshall.D.Teach, ST31-004 Monkey.D.Luffy, ST32-002 Kouzuki Oden |
| Promotion cards | P-084 Buggy, P-107 Gol.D.Roger |
The EB04-061 Secret Rare works the same way: a Monkey.D.Luffy whose number belongs to another product’s numbering. If you search the card list for OP17 numbers alone, you will miss all 11.
How many versions does OP-17 have beyond the 131?
Thirty-eight more. The count is of types, so alt-arts come on top, with 38 alt-art entries in English that share a number with a standard OP17 card. They are split unevenly:
| Base rarity | OP17 numbers | Numbers with an alt-art | Alt-art entries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leader | 6 | 6 | 7 |
| Super Rare | 10 | 10 | 15 |
| Secret Rare | 2 | 2 | 3 |
| Rare | 26 | 7 | 7 |
| Uncommon | 30 | 3 | 3 |
| Common | 45 | 3 | 3 |
| Total | 119 | 31 | 38 |
Every Leader and every Super Rare has at least one alt-art. OP17-079, the Luffy Leader, has two, and it comes as a Super Leader Alt-Art, a Leader with art from the original manga. Among the Super Rares, OP17-062 (Kaido) has three alt-arts, and OP17-005, OP17-022 and OP17-112 have two each. OP17-118 has two. Most Commons, Uncommons and Rares come as one print only.
The Treasure Rare is not in this table, since it counts among the 131. Add the 38 alt-arts to the 131 and you reach the 169 entries on the list. The Japanese list also shows 169 entries over the same 130 card numbers, except that its Treasure Rare sits on OP17-033. Our alternate art and parallel entries explain the two names for these versions.
Which characters does the set feature?
Three groups, each tied to a color block:
- The Straw Hat crew in Elbaph attire. Nine crew members from the black block, numbered OP17-080 to OP17-095, from Usopp to Roronoa Zoro.
- The Rocks Pirates. The featured list has 14 cards: Rocks.D.Xebec’s Secret Rare, OP17-118, and 13 blue cards from OP17-040 to OP17-054. They include versions of Edward.Newgate, Kaido and Charlotte Linlin that the card list types as Rocks Pirates.
- The Four Emperors. This group is the captains of the Whitebeard, Red-Haired, Animal Kingdom and Big Mom crews, the crews of the red, green, purple and yellow Leaders.
What sealed products hold OP-17 packs?
The pack itself, and one set built around OP-17 packs:
| Product | Release | MSRP | What is inside |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booster pack | August 28, 2026 | USD $4.99 | Cards of mixed rarities; no count given |
| Double Pack Set Vol.12 (DP-12) | August 28, 2026 | USD $11.99 | A package that doubles as a card case, with one DON!! card (one of two designs) and two OP-17 packs |
A booster box is sealed product, so buy one with the maker’s seal intact, and see the box guide for what retailers list. The cards in each pack vary, duplicates can turn up, and a full set may be hard to complete.
How do you check OP-17 card prices?
Rip.fan’s price pages and card price lookup cover English Pokémon cards only, so price an OP-17 card from sold listings:
- Pin down the version. Search the number on Bandai’s card list, then match the art. A Super Rare such as OP17-062 brings up four entries, all labeled SR.
- Match the language. Compare an English copy only with English sales. The two lists differ in at least one card, the Treasure Rare.
- Use sold prices, dated. Our guides to checking a One Piece card’s value and finding what a card sold for walk through it, and market, listed and sold prices explains which figure to trust.
- Check it is genuine. Our guide to spotting fake One Piece cards covers the checks.
