A One Piece starter deck is a ready-made deck: every recent box holds a 51-card deck, 10 DON!! cards and a printed mat. What else comes with it depends on the deck. Of the 16 starter decks Bandai released from March 2025 to July 2026, ST-21 to ST-36, twelve add a booster pack and four add a small extra pack instead. The two kinds are built differently: the twelve mix 5 new cards with 10 cards numbered in earlier products, while the four carry 17 numbers of their own.

What comes in a One Piece starter deck?

The basic box holds 10 DON!! cards, three guide cards and a deck of 50 cards plus one Leader card, which is why the deck is counted as 51 cards. Every deck from ST-21 to ST-36 also lists a printed mat.

The Starter Deck EX and the Ultimate Deck are upgraded options beside the standard Starter Deck, and two older Ultra Decks, ST-10 and ST-13, sit on the same product list. A booster pack is the other main product, and our guide to One Piece booster box contents covers it.

Which starter decks came out in 2025 and 2026?

Sixteen, all dated to Fridays by the calendar. Every row also holds the 51-card deck, 10 DON!! cards and the printed mat.

What is inside the decks that come with a booster pack?

Fifteen card types, split the same way in all twelve decks from ST-23 to ST-28 and ST-31 to ST-36. Five cards carry the deck’s own number (three Commons and two Super Rares), and the other ten carry a number from an earlier product. The Leader is always one of the ten.

Deck Leader, with its number Where the 10 other cards are numbered
ST-23 Shanks, OP09-001 All 10 from OP-09
ST-24 Jewelry Bonney, OP07-019 9 from OP-07, 1 from EB-01
ST-25 Buggy, OP09-042 9 from OP-09, 1 promotion card
ST-26 Monkey.D.Luffy, OP09-061 6 from OP-09, 3 from OP-05, 1 from ST-14
ST-27 Marshall.D.Teach, OP09-081 9 from OP-09, 1 from OP-10
ST-28 Yamato, OP06-022 7 from OP-06, 1 each from OP-07, OP-09 and ST-13
ST-31 Monkey.D.Luffy, ST21-001 3 from OP-11; 1 each from OP-01, OP-04, OP-13, OP-14, ST-21 and ST-23; 1 promotion card
ST-32 Roronoa Zoro, OP12-020 7 from OP-12, 1 each from OP-10, OP-15 and ST-24
ST-33 Kuzan, OP12-040 8 from OP-12, 2 from EB-04
ST-34 Charlotte Katakuri, OP11-062 7 from OP-11, 2 from EB-03, 1 promotion card
ST-35 Sabo, OP13-004 6 from OP-13, 3 from OP-12, 1 promotion card
ST-36 Eustass“Captain”Kid, OP10-099 6 from OP-10, 1 each from OP-12 and OP-13, 2 promotion cards

In 11 of the 12 decks, at least six of the ten come from a single earlier booster, most often OP-09 in the June 2025 decks. ST-31 is the exception: its ten carry numbers from seven earlier products plus a promotion card.

What rarities do those twelve decks list?

Every one lists a Leader and two Super Rares. The rest varies:

Deck Common Uncommon Rare Promotion card
ST-23 7 2 3 0
ST-24 4 5 3 0
ST-25 5 3 3 1
ST-26 7 3 2 0
ST-27 6 2 4 0
ST-28 6 4 2 0
ST-31 6 2 3 1
ST-32 6 3 3 0
ST-33 8 1 3 0
ST-34 5 3 3 1
ST-36 4 3 3 2

Our guide to One Piece rarities shows how each rarity is marked.

What is inside the decks that come with an extra pack?

ST-21, ST-22, ST-29 and ST-30 work differently. Each has 17 card numbers, all carrying the deck’s own code: one Leader, 14 Commons and two Super Rares. None is a reprint.

Deck Leader Extra pack types Alt versions on the card list
ST-21 Monkey.D.Luffy, ST21-001 15 15, ST21-001 to 015
ST-22 Ace & Newgate, ST22-001 14 14, ST22-001 to 014
ST-29 Monkey.D.Luffy, ST29-001 14 14, ST29-001 to 014
ST-30 Luffy & Ace, ST30-001 17 17, ST30-001 to 017

For ST-21 and ST-22, the extra pack is pictured with a normal version beside an alternate art version. In all four decks, the number of alternate art versions on the card list matches the extra pack’s type count, and they run in order from the deck’s first number.

One caution on ST-21: its rarity split is given two ways, 15 types with Rares and an Uncommon, or 17 numbers of Commons, Super Rares and a Leader on its card list. This guide follows the card list.

Why does the Leader’s number matter?

Because the number alone does not pin down a version. In all twelve booster-pack decks, the Leader carries an earlier product’s number: ST-23’s Shanks is OP09-001, and ST-31’s Monkey.D.Luffy is ST21-001, the Leader of the Gear5 deck. Each deck’s Leader has an entry of its own under that number. Match the art and the product before you compare prices. The card number entry explains the basic idea.

What are the beginner deck sets?

Two boxed sets on the same deck list are aimed at beginners:

Set Release List price What is inside
Learn Together Deck Set October 3, 2025 $39.99 Three guides and a printed mat for two, beside three extra packs of 5 cards (15 different cards in all) and three decks of 51 cards, each with its own case and 10 DON!! cards
Set Sail Deck Set (SD-01) September 18, 2026 $24.99 A printed mat for two, two guides and two deck cases, plus two decks of 51 cards with 10 DON!! cards each and one OP-17 booster pack

Each Learn Together set holds the same contents.

How do you check a starter deck card’s price?

Rip.fan’s price pages and card price lookup cover English Pokémon cards only, so price a One Piece card from sold listings:

  1. Find the exact version. Search the number on Bandai’s card list and match the art, since a deck Leader shares its number with other prints.
  2. Use dated sold prices. Our guides to checking a One Piece card’s value and finding what a card sold for walk through it.
  3. Check it is genuine. See spotting fake One Piece cards.

A starter deck is sealed product, so buy one with the maker’s wrap intact. For other One Piece products, see our guides to One Piece extra boosters, premium boosters, OP-15 and the One Piece set release dates, or the trading card hub.
