Booster pack

A booster pack is the standard sealed pack of a set: a foil wrapper holding a fixed number of cards from that set. The maker decides the make-up of a pack, such as how many cards of each rarity it holds.

Also called Pack.

In more detail

An English Pokémon pack holds 10 cards, and recent sets add a basic Energy card to them. The maker sets the structure of a pack, and the buyer does not choose which cards it holds.

The maker sets the make-up of a pack. Every English pack is guaranteed at least one Rare card and generally holds three Uncommon cards, and the rest are usually Common. Since Legendary Collection, each pack has also held a reverse holofoil card.

A pack is the smallest unit of sealed product, and boxes, cases, card rates and the price of a single pack all build on it. When you buy one, check that the wrapper and its seal are intact.
