All 12 sports card rip sites, ranked

  1. Rips by Triumph logo

    Rank 1: Rips by Triumph

    Rip.fan site score 9.9 out of 10

    Opening animations Tested hands-on

A UPS tracking number within 2 days.

Pokémon, One Piece and sportsPacks from $1

Code GYKSHPC: a free Pokémon pack when you sign up

We have opened more than 4,000 packs in the Triumph app, and it still feels like an occasion. A One Piece pack sinks into a wooden chest under water, a Pokémon pack glows against a field of stars, and the card turns over from a back stamped with the Triumph mark. The packs have felt honest to us, and the cards we keep reach the door in a black box with an orange T on the lid.

  2. Collector Crypt logo

    Rank 3: Collector Crypt

    Rip.fan site score 9.0 out of 10

    Graded card vault Tested hands-on

Card rates and value ranges on every pack page we saw.

Pokémon, One Piece, sports and 2 morePacks from $25

Collector Crypt is a site for collectors who read the label before they buy. Every pack page we looked at set out four value ranges and how often each comes up, with the share it offers for a card beside them. Its range has some surprises, too: one pack mixes graded luxury watches with graded Pokémon cards, and the marketplace was crowded with fresh listings each time we looked.

  3. Phygitals logo

    Rank 4: Phygitals

    Rip.fan site score 8.9 out of 10

    Shipping within days Tested hands-on

An instant trade-in offer on every card.

Pokémon, One Piece, sports and 3 morePacks from $5Card rates before you buy

Free credit when you join through our link

Phygitals is where we go when we want the card itself in hand. Across 599 packs, in a browser and in its iPhone app, each offer matched the share printed on the pack page before we paid, so nothing came as a surprise. In the app, every card arrives sealed in a slab that you tap to open, and the pack list stretches past Pokémon and One Piece into a long run of sports.

Tested, not recommended

We are not big fans of these rip sites unfortunately for various reasons. They're legit services, but not recommended.

  • Arena Club

We do not recommend Arena Club. Our payment to ship a card failed on every method we tried, so the card never left the site. Read why

    Rip.fan site score 1.7 out of 10

  • Courtyard

We do not recommend Courtyard. Its range of packs is wide, but shipping a card home meant a second payment, and package coverage more than doubled it. Read why

    Rip.fan site score 3.5 out of 10

  • Fanatics Collect

We do not recommend Fanatics Collect. It is a professional site with strong customer support, yet most cards we opened there had a low listed value. Read why

    Rip.fan site score 6.1 out of 10

Eight things, weighted by what costs you money

Read the full method

Every site here sells packs of real, physical items you can ship home. We score each one on up to eight things that matter when you buy, and re-check each site's terms every month.

Each score is the weighted average of the criteria we scored, from our own test or the site's published facts. A criterion with nothing behind it is left out, and each review lists the criteria behind its score.

How to choose

  1. Read the trade-in terms: the share of listed value, how long the offer lasts and how you are paid.
  2. Check what it costs to get a card home: the shipping cost and any fee on each card.
  3. Look for card rates on the pack page before you buy a pack.
  4. Read the fees at checkout: a fee to add money or to pay by card can apply.

Questions

How do you decide the order?

By score, highest first. We score each site out of 10 on up to eight criteria, weighted by what costs you money, and two sites with the same score are listed by name.

Do these sites ship the items you get?

Yes. Every site we rank ships what you get from a pack to you. Each review says what we found about shipping.

What is a trade-in offer?

A trade-in offer is a site's offer to buy back a card or item you got from a pack, for a share of the value the site lists for it. The share, how long the offer stays open and how it is paid differ from site to site.

Why isn't a site I use here?

If a site you use is not on this page, it does not sell sports cards, or we have not scored it yet. A site joins the ranking once we have scored it. Sites we tested and do not recommend are listed below the ranking, each with the reason.
