Courtyard review: graded card packs and an instant offer

Not recommended

Courtyard has a wide range of packs and good promo packs, but shipping a card home cost far too much in our test.

A Courtyard pack: a black and gold foil pack with a shield of a baseball and crossed bats. A Courtyard pack: a black and gold foil pack with a shield of a basketball. A Courtyard pack: a black and gold foil pack with a star shield emblem.

What we found in our test

  • Packs openedTwo baseball packs, then the cheapest pack on the site. Each gave one graded card.
  • Shipping one cardShipping was a second payment on top of the pack, and adding package coverage more than doubled its cost.
  • Balance left overA balance below the price of the cheapest pack cannot buy another pack, so it can be left in the account.
  • Card valueOn one card, the value Courtyard showed was higher than CGC's value for the same card. One card, not a pattern.
  • Selling and tradingIt has a marketplace for listing cards and a trade center for swapping them.
  • Sending in your own itemsSending in your own collectibles was paused when we looked.

Measured item value

In 148,530 Courtyard openings read from its public record of opened packs, Oct 19 to Oct 28, 2026, the items carried $1.05 of the site's own listed value per $1 spent on average. A typical opening carried $0.88 per $1.

How we tested

We bought three packs on Courtyard, two Baseball Starter Packs and then the Wildcard Basic Pack, the cheapest on the site, and looked at the instant offer on each card. Then we went as far as the shipping checkout for one card, pricing it with and without package coverage, and opened the screen for listing a card for sale. This review is a human and AI collaboration: our own test purchases supplied the screenshots and notes, and AI wrote the review from them.

  • A graded baseball card in its slab, standing on a round display stand with the Courtyard name, on the Courtyard website after its pack opened.

The card our second Baseball Starter Pack gave.

What stood out

The range is the strong point. Cards, graded coins, comics, watches and sneakers all sit in one shop, and promo packs and limited-time events were running when we visited.

  • Three sealed Pokémon booster packs on the Courtyard website, each in a clear case with a bright foil wrapper, under the Sealed Booster tab, with their prices below.

Shipping is where it falls down, because every card you want in hand means a second bill, and a steep one once you add coverage. Watch your balance too, since a small leftover can end up stuck in the account.

  • Two mixed sports packs on the Courtyard website, each in bright foil with a badge of balls and a bat, with their names and prices below.

How it works

We picked a kind of pack and a price, paid, and opened each pack on screen, and every pack gave one graded card. Our guide to how online pack opening works walks through the same steps on other sites.

  • Two packs from the Wildcard series on the Courtyard website, in purple and silver foil with a large question mark, the Basic and Starter packs, with their prices below.

The pack screens run well past cards. Alongside Pokémon and One Piece cards there are sports packs for baseball, basketball, football, soccer and hockey, Magic: The Gathering cards, and sealed boosters for Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Beyond cards you find graded coins (U.S., ancient and shipwreck), comics, watches and sneakers, plus a mixed series the site calls Wildcard.

  • Two sealed Magic: The Gathering booster packs on the Courtyard website, one marked sold out, with their names and prices below.
  • Two sneaker packs on the Courtyard website, each a blue shoe box for one range of US men's shoe sizes, with their prices below.

When we tested it on October 13, 2026, prices ran from $15 for the cheapest pack on the site to $10,000 for a watch box, which holds one watch in its own case. The sneaker packs are sold by shoe size, one pack for each range of sizes.

  • Two watch boxes on the Courtyard website, each a wristwatch in an open wooden case, the Classic and Premier boxes, with their prices below.

Two of our three cards came graded by PSA and one by CGC. Every result screen showed the card on a stand, and the second baseball result also offered to sell us the same pack again at the same price.

  • A sealed baseball pack on the Courtyard website, in blue and silver foil with crossed bats on a shield, before it is opened.
  • A graded baseball card in its slab on a stand on the Courtyard website after its pack opened, with an offer marked as fee included, a button to accept it, and buttons to explore packs or buy the same pack again.
  • The sealed Wildcard Basic Pack on the Courtyard website: a purple pack printed with a large question mark and an Open Pack label, under falling confetti.
  • A graded Pokémon card in its slab on a stand on the Courtyard website after its pack opened, with an offer marked as fee included, a button to accept it, and buttons to explore packs or buy the same pack again.
Opening packs on the website

After a pack you can take the instant offer, keep the card or have it shipped, and you can also list it on the marketplace or swap it with another collector in the trade center. When we looked, the option to send in your own collectibles was on pause.

  • The top of the Trade Center page on the Courtyard website, with two tabs, Offers received and Offers made.
  • A notice on the Courtyard website that reads Collectible submissions are paused, in white on a grey panel.

Card rates and what a pack holds

We checked the pages for the Baseball Starter Pack and the Baseball Diamond Pack, and each listed its value ranges and how often each range comes up before you pay. Our guide to slab packs explains how to read pages like these. For one of our cards, Courtyard’s figure sat above the value CGC gives the same card, though one card says little about the rest.

  • The page for the Baseball Diamond Pack on the Courtyard website: the pack in silver and blue foil, a choice of one to five packs, and a button to buy at its price.

Trade-in offers and selling

Each card came with an instant offer to buy it back, on the result screen as soon as the pack opened. The screen marked the offer as fee included but did not say how big the fee was, so check recent sales of the same card before you accept. Our guide to judging a trade-in offer shows how.

  • The selling panel on a card's page on the Courtyard website: the card marked not listed, a button to list it for sale and a button to accept the instant offer.

When we opened the listing screen to sell a card to other collectors, its marketplace fee was struck through and marked free. The marketplace itself lists graded cards for sale, with the newest listings first.

  • Three graded Pokémon cards in their slabs on the marketplace of the Courtyard website, each marked just now, with a heart button beside it.

Fees and shipping

At checkout, one card cost $10.09 to ship without package coverage, with no tax. Ticking package coverage pushed the total to $24.84, and nearly all of that rise sat in the shipping line itself, which went to $24.59, while the coverage charge was just $0.25. With coverage, shipping one card cost nearly as much as one of our $25 Baseball Starter Packs.

  • The shipping estimate on the Courtyard website with the package coverage box left unticked: shipping, tax and the total cost on separate lines, above a box to accept its terms.

The same shipment with package coverage.

Courtyard ships worldwide at FedEx’s rates, from Delaware. Processing can take up to 10 business days, counting Monday to Friday without holidays, and the tracking number comes by email. An order cannot be changed once you submit it, so check the cards and the address first. Checkout took a card or Link. Before you pay for postage, our guide to keeping a card on a site or shipping it home can help you decide whether to ship at all, and our guide to shipping a graded card home covers the trip itself.

  • The card form at checkout on the Courtyard website, with fields for the card number, expiry date, security code, country and ZIP code, and the four card brands it takes.

Who it suits

Courtyard could suit a collector who wants many kinds of collectibles in one shop and plans to keep cards on the site or sell them there. Its app and site scored well with us.

  • Two comic packs on the Courtyard website, a red and blue foil pack and a gold foil pack, each with the Courtyard shield, the Comic Pro and Comic Master packs, with their prices below.

Skip it if you want your cards at home, which is the main reason we do not recommend it. Our Phygitals review covers a site that had our cards on their way within days.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't you recommend Courtyard?

Shipping. It is a separate bill after the pack, and ours climbed steeply once we added coverage.

What does Courtyard do well?

Variety. One shop holds packs of cards, coins, comics, watches and sneakers, and promo packs were on when we visited.

What did shipping one card cost in our test?

Far too much for us. Adding package coverage more than doubled the fee for a single card, and nearly all of the rise went to postage.

Does Courtyard charge a fee to list a card for sale?

Not when we looked. The fee on the listing screen was crossed out and replaced with the word free.

How long does Courtyard take to ship?

Allow up to 10 business days for an order to be processed, then FedEx transit from Delaware.

What happens to a small balance left in my account?

It can get stuck. A balance under the price of the cheapest pack has nothing left to buy.

Which review should I read instead?

Our Phygitals review, which covers the site we recommend instead of Courtyard.
