Panini Flawless is a high-end Panini football and basketball release, the top of the range, sold as a single pack per box. A 2025 football box holds 10 cards: six autographs and two relics, plus a gem card and one more card that is a relic or a gem. The gem cards need the most care when you buy. Their version names, such as Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond, double as print-run labels, and the runs change from set to set and from year to year.
What comes in a Flawless box?
One pack, for each of the three most recent editions:
| Edition | Released | Box | Boxes per case | Listed per box |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 football | October 9, 2025 | 1 pack of 10 cards | 2 | 6 autographs, 2 relics, a gem card and a last card that is a relic or a gem |
| 2025 football | February 27, 2026 | 1 pack of 10 cards | 2 | 6 autographs, 2 relics, a gem card and a last card that is a relic or a gem |
| 2024-25 basketball | September 26, 2025 | 1 pack of 11 cards | 2 | 10 autographs or relics, 1 gem card |
The football box is a metal briefcase, and its contents come as expected counts. There are also 1st Off the Line (FOTL) boxes. In 2025 football, an FOTL box’s six autographs include a Bronze Patch Autograph numbered to 6 or fewer, and its gem card is an Aquamarine numbered to 3. In basketball, an FOTL box holds 14 cards, including an FOTL gem numbered to 3 or fewer and three FOTL relics numbered to 25 or fewer. Our guide to sports card sets by tier shows where one-pack boxes sit.
How do the gem cards work?
A gem card has a stone set into it. The football cards use authentic rubies, sapphires and diamonds, and there are multi-gem NFL Shield versions. For basketball, the Base Gem set features a genuine diamond. Every 2025 football box has at least one gem card.
The base gem cards come in versions named for gems and finishes, each with its own run.
| Version | 2024 football (95 cards) | 2025 football (55 cards) | 2024-25 basketball (95 cards) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain version | Ruby is the base, /20 | Ruby is the base, /25 | /20 |
| Sapphire | /15 | /20 | Not on the list |
| Diamond | /10 | /15 | Not on the list |
| Gold | Not on the list | Not on the list | /10 |
| Emerald | /5 | /5 | /5 |
| Aquamarine | /2 | /3 | Not on the list |
| Fuchsia | Not on the list | Not on the list | /3 |
| Diamond Black | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 | Not on the list |
| Platinum | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 |
The table carries a decision rule. A football base gem card marked Diamond and stamped out of 10 is a 2024 card; out of 15, it is a 2025 card. A Ruby base gem card stamped out of 25 is 2025, and out of 20 is 2024. The gem name and the stamp together tell you the year, so check both. Our guide to how serial-numbered cards work explains the stamp.
Does a gem name mean the same run in every set?
No, and this is easy to miss. In 2025 football, many of the autograph sets share a ladder of their own, and the Rookie Gems Signatures set uses a third.
| Version name | Base Gems | Rookie Gems Signatures | Autograph sets such as Flawless Flyers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain version | None; Ruby is the base | /20 | /25 |
| Silver | Not used | Not used | /20 |
| Ruby | /25 | Not used | /15 |
| Sapphire | /20 | /15 | /10 |
| Diamond | /15 | /10 | Not used |
| Emerald | /5 | /5 | /5 |
| Platinum | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 |
So within one 2025 box, a Sapphire card can be numbered to 20, 15 or 10. Name the set before you read anything into the gem.
What are the rookie patch autographs?
The Rookie Patch Autographs set holds selected rookies from that year’s draft class, and the 2025 autographs are on-card.
| Version | 2024 (25 cards) | 2025 (23 cards) |
|---|---|---|
| Plain version | /25 | /25 |
| Silver | /20 | /20 |
| Ruby | /15 | /15 |
| Sapphire | /10 | /10 |
| Bronze | /6 | /4 |
| Emerald | /5 | /5 |
| Platinum | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 |
Bronze is the one version that changed. The 2025 Rookie Booklets set has four cards, in Gloves and Patch versions numbered to 10, Brand Logo numbered to 2 and Shield as a one of one. Our guide to patch cards and RPAs explains the logo, tag and shield pieces.
How big is a Flawless checklist?
Large, for a product sold in 10-card boxes. The 2025 football release has 36 autograph sets, 23 relic sets and 9 insert sets alongside 3 base gem sets with 100 cards. Some of the shortest runs:
| Set | Cards | Base run |
|---|---|---|
| Shield Signatures | 53 | 1 |
| NFL Shield Gems | 18 | 1 |
| Symbolic Signatures | 53 | 2 |
| Flawless Spike Autographs | 7 | 2 |
| Laundry Tag Signatures | 50 | 3 |
| Rookie Cleat Autographs | 9 | 5 |
| Simply Flawless (an Aquamarine version is numbered to 3) | 30 | 5 |
The autograph card and memorabilia card entries cover the card types, and our guide to sticker and on-card autographs explains why on-card matters.
How to check a Flawless card before you buy
- Confirm the sport and the edition year. The 2024 football edition reached shops in October 2025, and the 2025 edition in February 2026.
- Name the set, then find that set’s ladder for that year.
- Match the gem name to the stamp. A 2025 Base Gems Diamond reads out of 15; a 2024 one reads out of 10.
- For a patch card, check that the piece matches the version’s name, as the patch card guide explains.
- Ask for clear photos of the gem, the signature and the serial number, front and back.
- Price the exact set, version and year from recent sales, as our guide to finding what a card sold for explains.
