Mega box

A mega box is a format of a sports card product that checklists list beside the hobby box and the blaster, and it can hold cards made only for it.

In more detail

Checklist sites list the mega box as a format of its own, beside the hobby box and the blaster. Breakninja's listing for 2025 Donruss Optic Football packs mega boxes and blasters 20 boxes to a case, against 12 for hobby boxes.

Some mega boxes carry cards the other formats lack. Checklist Insider's box breakdown for 2025-26 Panini Prizm Basketball lists 12 exclusive Red Ice Prizms in a mega box on average, and Upper Deck's 2026-27 Series 1 checklist lists its Rookie Commemorative Class insert at 1:2 in the Target Mega Box.

The name is a format, not a size standard. Checklist Insider lists a 2025-26 Prizm Basketball mega box at 10 cards per pack, and Breakninja's listing for 2025 Donruss Optic Football gives fewer. Read a checklist before you buy a mega box for one card, because it shows which boxes hold that card.
