A Pokémon Elite Trainer Box holds 9 booster packs, and the Pokémon Center edition holds 11. A Booster Bundle holds 6 packs, and a booster display box holds 36. Those counts hold for Pokémon’s recent sets Chaos Rising (May 22, 2026) and Pitch Black (July 17, 2026). The 30th Celebration set of September 16, 2026 keeps the same Elite Trainer Box and bundle counts but changes the pack: 5 foil cards and a foil Basic Energy, where Pitch Black packs hold 10 cards and a Basic Energy.

How many packs are in an Elite Trainer Box?

Nine in the standard box, for Chaos Rising, Pitch Black and 30th Celebration, which came out in September 2026. Around the packs, the box carries:

  • a storage box with 6 dividers
  • 65 card sleeves
  • Energy cards: 40 in the Pitch Black box, 16 foil Basic Energy cards in the 30th Celebration box
  • one full-art promo card, a different Pokémon for each set
  • a printed guide to the set

The Pokémon Center edition adds two packs, for 11, and a second copy of the promo. In all three sets, one of the two promos carries the Pokémon Center logo.

What comes in the main Pitch Black products?

Pitch Black went on sale July 17, 2026. Each pack holds 10 cards and a Basic Energy card. Target’s prices below are from its main product page for each item on October 11, 2026, when every one showed as out of stock.

“Not read” means no price for that item was taken from Target’s pages for this guide. The table lists the main sealed products, not every item Pokémon sells for the set. The three-booster blister appears on Target’s page but not in the product list on Pokémon’s Pitch Black overview.

What comes in the main 30th Celebration products?

The 30th Celebration set rolls out over several dates. Every card in its packs is foil, and every pack holds one of 30 different Pikachu rare cards. Prices follow the same rule as the table above.

Why the per-pack figures don’t compare across sets

A 30th Celebration pack holds 5 cards, and a Pitch Black pack holds 10. Two products with the same price per pack give you different numbers of cards. Compare per-pack figures only within one set.

Counted in cards, the gap is plain:

  • A Pitch Black Booster Bundle holds 60 cards and 6 Basic Energy cards. A 30th Celebration bundle holds 30 foil cards and 6 foil Basic Energy cards.
  • A Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box holds 90 cards from its packs. The 30th Celebration box holds 45, all foil.
  • A Pitch Black booster display box holds 360 cards from its 36 packs.

Which product costs least per pack?

At Target, the cheapest way to get packs was the Pitch Black three-booster blister at $5.00 a pack, then each set’s Booster Bundle at $5.33. Within each set, the Elite Trainer Box came to more per pack: $6.67 for Pitch Black and $7.78 for 30th Celebration. That figure also pays for its promo, sleeves, Energy cards and storage box, not just the packs.

So the choice comes down to what you want besides packs:

  1. Packs only. A Booster Bundle, a blister or a booster display box is mostly booster packs, with the least packaging.
  2. Packs plus supplies. An Elite Trainer Box adds sleeves, Energy cards, a storage box and a full-art promo. For what to do with them, see our guide to storing trading cards.
  3. A promo or display piece. The collections and tins carry promos, posters, figures or an acrylic display. Most hold 2 to 8 packs, and the Ultra-Premium Collections hold 29 plus a Classic Collection pack.

Why do prices differ between stores?

Each store sets its own prices. The Target prices above were taken on one day, with everything out of stock.

Target’s site also carries listings from other sellers. On the same day, one seller offered two 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Boxes together for $439.00, in stock, while the main page for a single box showed $69.99 and out of stock. Check who sells and ships an item before you buy.

Several of Target’s product pages carry the note “Content May Vary,” and some products ship in more than one style. The Tech Sticker Collection, for example, comes with either an Alolan Exeggutor or a Lucario promo, and the style is not guaranteed.

How do you check what you are buying?

Start with the pack count. Match it to the official contents for that product and set, since a resale listing that claims a different count, or a format the set never had, is a warning. Then look at the seal. Sealed product is bought for what is inside, so the maker’s seal has to be intact. Our guide to spotting a resealed Pokémon pack covers the wrap, the seams and the crimps.

Once the packs are open, our guide to Pokémon rarity symbols explains what the stars on each card mean. To find one particular card, Rip.fan’s Pokémon card price pages list each card in a set with its rarity, and the card price lookup finds a single card by name. The Pokémon hub collects the rest of our Pokémon coverage.

Frequently asked questions

Will Target match a lower price after I buy?

Only its own price, on an eligible item. If the item drops on Target's own site or at a local Target store within 14 days of purchase, Target can adjust the price, and for purchases from November 1, 2026 the window runs to December 24, 2026.

Can I return a Pokémon Center bundle?

No. Every bundle sold in North America is final sale. For a damaged item, Pokémon Center support asks for one photo of everything in the order together with a legible packing slip or shipping label, and it cannot promise to replace promo cards.

What if a sealed product is missing a part?

Pokémon support asks for the receipt, the number under the barcode and a photo of the opened product with every item laid out side by side, and for a note of what was missing. It helps only with products released within the last year, contacted within 10 business days of purchase.
