Wizards of the Coast announced Atlanta’s Festival in a Box on October 5, 2026. The bundle was scheduled for sale on October 19, 2026, with a full Commander booster box and Atlanta-themed foils.

Home drafters get a box built for Commander Draft. Collectors also get a foil Secret Lair drop and promo cards outside the boosters.

The bundle announcement set the price at $249.99 USD on October 5, 2026. Sales were planned through the Secret Lair storefront, while supplies lasted, with a limit of 2 per customer.

A Commander box with 24 boosters

Mystery Booster Commander Edition supplies the sealed box inside the bundle. Each booster holds 20 cards, and the box contains 24 boosters. Together, the boosters contain 480 cards, before the separate foil drop and promos.

The set draws on over 2,000 cards from Magic’s history. Its reprints carry a Planeswalker stamp near the lower-left corner. New paper cards, Future Sight treatments, acorn-stamp cards and playtest cards do not carry that stamp.

Each booster includes a reprinted commander at rare or mythic rare. A separate position contains a new commander, with 60 new cards in that group across the release.

The new commander appears in traditional foil at a rate of 4.75%. The non-foil rate is 95.25%. A wildcard reprint can be any rarity, while each color contributes 3 common or uncommon cards.

Future Sight frames and test cards

A separate booster position holds a Future Sight frame card or a traditional foil acorn-stamp card. The Future Sight group contains 134 different cards across the release.

For common or uncommon Future Sight cards, the stated rates are 43.3% non-foil and 2% traditional foil. Rare or mythic rare versions have rates of 52% non-foil and 2.4% traditional foil.

Traditional foil acorn-stamp cards appear at less than 1%. The release includes 10 cards in that group. Wizards notes that rounding can affect the combined percentages.

Each booster also has 1 non-foil playtest card. The selection contains 121 cards and uses the same group found in Mystery Booster 2. Both playtest cards and acorn-stamp cards are usable in this release’s Draft and Sealed formats, but not Constructed formats.

Atlanta foils and separate promos

Secret Gallery: Atlanta adds 4 foil cards with art by Atlanta artists. The selection includes Assassin’s Trophy and Parallax Tide, alongside Viridian Revel and Regrowth.

The separate promo group contains 4 cards. Tana, the Bloodsower and Tymna the Weaver receive foil treatments with full art and no rules text. Dance of the Dead has that treatment too.

Auspicious Aquarium completes the promo group as a playtest card. Mark Rosewater designed and illustrated it.

Commander dates and draft rules

The new MBC cards become usable in Commander on November 13, 2026. Their use in Legacy, Vintage and other Eternal formats starts on January 1, 2027.

Reprints retain their existing format permissions. The dates for new cards do not change the restrictions on playtest or acorn-stamp cards.

Mystery Booster Commander Edition uses a 60-card deck for Commander Draft. Drafters select cards in pairs, then build within their commander’s color identity.

Eligible commanders with no more than 1 color can be treated as having partner during these drafts. A special rule also allows an added color when a drafted commander cannot cover a 2-color deck.

What to do

  • Check that the bundle listing includes the Commander booster box, Atlanta foil drop and separate promo group.
  • Compare a seller’s stated price with the $249.99 USD price announced on October 5, 2026, including any checkout charges.
  • Confirm which new MBC cards you intend to use in Commander after November 13, 2026, excluding playtest and acorn-stamp cards.
