Panini Phoenix is a chromium football release, and its defining feature is the size of its parallel list. Every 2025 base card comes in 82 parallel versions, grouped into eight pattern families such as Hyper, Lava and Seismic, each with its own colors and print runs. The 2025 edition came out on November 12, 2025, and a hobby box holds 12 packs of 5 cards with two autographs. Because so many versions share a stamp, a number like /10 tells you little until you know the pattern.

What is in a 2025 Phoenix box?

Format Packs per box Cards per pack Listed in each box
Hobby 12 5 2 autographs, one a rookie autograph with memorabilia; 12 rookies; 12 parallels; 6 inserts
1st Off the Line (FOTL) 12 5 1 FOTL autograph numbered to 25 or fewer and 1 more autograph; 1 FOTL parallel numbered to 10 or fewer and 11 more parallels; 12 rookies; 6 inserts
Blaster 6 4 1 insert, 6 rookies and 4 exclusive parallels

The hobby box contents are expected counts. By Rip.fan’s arithmetic, a hobby box holds 60 cards. The FOTL boxes are dated November 4, 2025, ahead of hobby. Our guide to hobby and retail boxes explains why formats carry different cards.

How is the base set built?

The 2025 base set has 250 cards in two blocks. Cards 1 to 150 are veterans and retired players, such as Patrick Mahomes II at card 1 and Dan Fouts of the San Diego Chargers at card 18. Cards 151 to 250 are rookies, and all 100 carry the RC mark. Each player appears once in the base set. The rookies come to about one per hobby pack, which fits the 12 rookies per box. Each player’s NFL team is named.

Many base cards also come signed. There are 96 veteran base autographs and 83 rookie base autographs, all numbered to 199 or fewer and each carrying its base card’s number. Our guide to what counts as a rookie card explains the RC mark.

How do the parallel families work?

Each family takes a pattern name and runs it through a ladder of colors. This table sorts all 82 versions of a 2025 base card.

Family Unnumbered Numbered colors, largest run first Versions
Hyper Silver Hyper Red 399, Pink 299, Purple 249, Blue 199, Green 149, Orange 99, Bronze 50, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 10
Winter Silver Winter The same colors and runs as Hyper 10
Lazer Silver Lazer Red 199, Pink 149, Purple 99, Blue 75, Green 49, Orange 35, Bronze 15, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 10
Seismic Silver Seismic Red 99, Pink 75, Purple 49, Blue 35, Green 25, Orange 20, Bronze 15, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 10
Pyramids Silver Pyramids Light Blue 385, Lime Green 285, Teal 225, Yellow 185, Ash 85, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 8
Lava Silver Lava Light Blue 325, Lime Green 225, Teal 175, Yellow 125, Ash 75, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 8
Mojo Silver Mojo Light Blue 85, Lime Green 75, Teal 50, Yellow 35, Ash 25, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 8
Pandora Silver Pandora Orange 189, Bronze 125, Gold 10, Black 1 of 1 5
No pattern name Silver, White Shimmer Fire Burst 350, Wave 199, Phoenix 149, Red 99, Blue 50, Green 25, Color Burst 10, Gold 10, Dreamweaver 4, Black 1 of 1, Celestial 1 of 1 13

The same color means different things in different families. A Red Hyper card is numbered to 399, a Red Lazer to 199 and a Red Seismic to 99, while Gold sits at 10 and Black at 1 of 1 in every family.

Why doesn’t the stamp identify the card?

Because many versions share a run. The runs break down like this:

Stamp Versions with that run
/10 10: Gold in all eight families, plain Gold and Color Burst
1 of 1 10: Black in all eight families, plain Black and Celestial
/99 5: Orange Hyper, Orange Winter, Purple Lazer, Red and Red Seismic
/199 4: Blue Hyper, Blue Winter, Red Lazer and Wave
/149 4: Green Hyper, Green Winter, Phoenix and Pink Lazer
/75 4: Ash Lava, Blue Lazer, Lime Green Mojo and Pink Seismic
/50 4: Blue, Bronze Hyper, Bronze Winter and Teal Mojo

So a listing that says only “/99 Mahomes” could be any of five cards. Name the pattern and the color, then confirm the run in the table. Our guides to sports card parallels and serial-numbered cards explain how numbered colors work in general.

What are the factory-set parallels?

Two of the 82 versions, Fire Burst (numbered to 350) and Celestial (1 of 1), are exclusive to the 2025 Phoenix factory set, a boxed set Panini first sold on its own website. That set came out December 19, 2025, and each box holds 251 cards: all 250 base cards in the Fire Burst version, plus one Celestial card, which can be a base card or a Contours, Paragon or Thunderbirds insert. So a Fire Burst or Celestial Phoenix card comes from a factory set box, not from packs.

What autographs, memorabilia and inserts are there?

2025 Phoenix has 12 autograph sets over 513 card numbers, 4 memorabilia sets over 100 and 8 insert sets over 225. Three autograph sets with memorabilia are hobby-exclusive:

  • RPS Rookie Patch Autographs: 41 card numbers, each numbered to 199 or fewer.
  • Rookie Phenom Jersey Autographs: 39 card numbers, each numbered to 249 or fewer.
  • Mythical Materials Autographs: 31 card numbers, the set for veteran signers.

The memorabilia sets add tag parallels at the scarce end of their ladders. Franchise Future Material, for example, runs from 299 copies down to laundry tag versions numbered to 3, to 2 and to 1 of 1.

Inserts come about one in two hobby packs, which fits the 6 per box. Color Blast and Genies sit at the case level, Genies is back after sitting out 2024, and Color Blast and Phoenician are super short prints. Our guide to autographs, patches and short prints explains these card types.

How did 2024 Phoenix differ?

The 2024 edition came out April 18, 2025, as 12 packs of 5 cards, 16 boxes to a case, with two autographs and one memorabilia card per hobby box. One of the two autographs is a rookie autograph with memorabilia. So the year in the name is not always the year a box came out.

Its parallel list was smaller: each 2024 base card has 58 versions. The 2024 edition has Hyper, Lazer and Pandora families but no Winter, Lava, Mojo, Pyramids or Seismic, and it adds Fade colors and versions such as Team Helmet and Team Logos. Some 2024 parallels, such as Pandora, Pulsar and Bronze Fade, were exclusive to H2 boxes, a format the 2025 edition does not have.

How to check a Phoenix card before you buy

  1. Read the card number: 151 to 250 is a 2025 rookie.
  2. Name the pattern and the color, then check the run in the family table. A stamp alone fits several versions.
  3. A Fire Burst or Celestial card comes from the factory set.
  4. Measure the borders with our centering checker.
  5. Price the exact card, pattern and color from recent sales, as our guide to finding what a card sold for explains. If you sell on Whatnot, the seller fee calculator shows what you keep after its fees.

Our guides to Panini Prizm, Panini Select and Prizm Draft Picks cover other Panini football releases, our guide to reading a sports card checklist explains how parallel lists are laid out, and the sports cards hub lists the rest.
