Trade-in offer

A trade-in offer is a site's instant offer to take a card back in exchange for credit. It is a share of the card's value, less a fee, and it stays open for a short time.

In more detail

On Fanatics Collect, a rip can come with an Instant Credit offer. If you accept within the window, usually 24 to 48 hours, the site pays about 90% of the card's market value at the time the pack was sealed, minus a 6% marketplace fee, in credits, and the card goes back to the site.

The page gives an example: a card valued at $100 would bring an offer near $90, and after the 6% fee a credit of $84.60. Accepting is final, so the card does not come back, and the credits can be used only for later purchases on the site.

Compare the offer with the card's current market price and with the price of keeping it. If you want the card, let the offer lapse. If you want credit, remember it is worth less than the card and tied to the site.
