Rip site

A rip site is a website or app that sells packs of real cards held in a vault. You see the card revealed on screen, then keep it vaulted, ship it home or trade it in.

In more detail

A rip site is a retailer. It buys or holds graded cards, sells them one pack at a time, and stores the card you open until you decide what to do with it. You can keep it in the vault, list it for sale, have it shipped to you, or, on some sites, trade it back for credit.

Because the site holds the card, its fees decide what a pack really costs. Fanatics Collect, for one, charges a fulfillment fee when a card leaves its vault: 1% of the insured value, and 3% if the card goes out within 90 days of being stored. Trade-in credit is worth less than the card's market value, and it carries a short deadline.

Rip.fan lists rip sites by what each one publishes: pack prices, the cards in each pool, and the fees to keep, trade in or ship a card. Every figure carries the day we read it, because sites change their terms.
