Pokémon ex

A Pokémon ex is a Pokémon card marked by a stylized ex after its name, first printed in the Scarlet & Violet expansion. Its regular print is a double rare, and many also get rarer full art prints.

In more detail

Bulbapedia, a fan wiki, says the ex is a stylized graphic on the card's name and that these cards were introduced with the Scarlet & Violet expansion. On the regular print it describes the Pokémon as breaking out of the picture frame, with the rest of the scene faintly visible beneath it. The Pokémon TCG's product guide places these regular prints at double rare, the tier marked with two solid black stars.

Bulbapedia notes that most Pokémon ex also come as a full art ultra rare, and that some get special illustration rare and hyper rare prints as well. Two variants carry the ex too: Tera Pokémon ex, whose art Bulbapedia describes as showing crystal shards around the frame, and Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, which picture the Mega form of the Pokémon.

One Pokémon can appear as several ex cards across rarities, so name the set, the card number and the rarity when you buy or sell. The double rare and the full art print of the same Pokémon ex are different cards with different prices.
