Perfect 10
Perfect 10 was the grade CGC Trading Cards gave a Pristine 10 card, and CSG a Gem Mint 10 card, with all four subgrades at 10; CGC Cards stopped giving it in 2023 but still supports it.
In more detail
CGC Trading Cards defined a Perfect 10 as a Pristine 10 with all four subgrades at 10, centering, surface, corners and edges, and no post-production flaws under 10-times magnification. From January 14, 2022 it printed those quad 10 subgrades on every Perfect 10 label, whether or not the submitter had asked for subgrades.
CSG, then a sister company in the Certified Collectibles Group, used the grade too. Its May 2022 announcement defined a CSG Perfect 10 as a Gem Mint 10 with all four criteria at 10, and introduced a label with a lustrous gold Perfect 10 on it.
When the two combined as CGC Cards in mid-2023, CGC said Perfect 10 would no longer be given, because most respondents in its surveys and focus groups said three 10 grades would be too many. Its grading scale now lists Perfect 10 as a retired grade that keeps its status, and CGC recommends against reholdering a Perfect 10, which would come back as a Pristine 10.
