Fantasy Flight, the publisher of Star Wars: Unlimited, said on September 25, 2026 that several products from its new set Homeworlds would reach stores late because of problems at its manufacturing partner. Australia and New Zealand were moved to an October 15 prerelease and an October 16 release. The update leaves the October 2 prerelease and October 9 release unchanged everywhere else.

Fantasy Flight wrote that it could not supply a large majority of its stores with the full range of Homeworlds products in time for the October 2 prerelease. It had already announced a delay to one product, the Carbonite Booster, a few weeks earlier. The September 25 update widened the delay to other products. Fantasy Flight said it was the first time it had missed a release date for a main set.

What changed later that day

Later the same day, Fantasy Flight added a note to the post after what it called confusion over the update. The Carbonite delay is still in effect and affects places around the world, the note says, and it expects most of its stores worldwide to get little or no Carbonite product for prerelease and release. In the countries on its list with a Carbonite delay, that product will miss the prerelease window, it added.

Products that do reach stores will be limited at first, with restocks after release, according to the update.

Which places are affected, and how

Fantasy Flight’s update lists 22 countries and regions, each with the products delayed there. Grouped by what is delayed, the list looks like this:

What is delayed Where, according to Fantasy Flight
The whole set: prerelease moved to October 15 and release to October 16 Australia and New Zealand (New Zealand’s entry also names Carbonite Boosters, Prerelease Boxes and Spotlight Decks)
Carbonite Boosters only Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Romania, Taiwan and the United Kingdom
Standard Boosters, Carbonite Boosters, Prerelease Boxes and Spotlight Decks China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
The same four products plus the weekly store event kits Colombia, Mexico, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates
No list given United States: Fantasy Flight says to check with your local store

Carbonite Boosters appear in 20 of the 22 entries. The two without them are Australia, whose whole release moved, and the United States, which has no product list.

What stays the same

Fantasy Flight called the Australia and New Zealand change the only official move of the prerelease and release dates. By its account, no other prerelease or release date was moved, even where products were listed as delayed. Fantasy Flight said it would keep posting updates as it learned more.

Which stores open the prerelease short

Fantasy Flight said on September 25 that most stores would not have the full range of Homeworlds products for the October 2 prerelease. By its list, stores in the countries with Carbonite delays would start prerelease without Carbonite Boosters. Stores in the twelve countries whose entries name four or five products could also lack Standard Boosters, Prerelease Boxes and Spotlight Decks. Those are China, Colombia, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

The update gives no new arrival dates outside Australia and New Zealand. It describes delays, not cancellations, and says restocks come after release. The United States entry lists no products and tells buyers to ask their local store, so the update leaves the answer to each store.

What to do

  1. If you preordered Homeworlds boxes or packs, ask your store which products it has received and which are still on the way.
  2. Check whether a preorder is for Standard Boosters or Carbonite Boosters. Carbonite Boosters are the most widely delayed product on the list.
  3. In Australia or New Zealand, note the new dates: prerelease October 15, release October 16.
  4. If you keep boxes sealed, our guide to storing sealed product explains how, and our booster box glossary entry covers the basics.
  5. Our TCG page gathers our guides on Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana.

How we checked

The details come from Fantasy Flight’s Homeworlds product update on the Star Wars: Unlimited site, dated September 25, 2026, including the note it added later that day. The count of entries that name Carbonite Boosters is Rip.fan’s own, from that list. The update was read on October 12, 2026.
