Serial-numbered card

A serial-numbered card is stamped with its own number inside a stated print run, such as 23/99. A card numbered 1/1 is the only copy of that card.

Also called Numbered card.

In more detail

The stamp gives the card's place in the run and the size of the run. A card marked 12/99 is the 12th of 99 copies, and the run is stated on the card itself, with the numbers running in order from 1.

A smaller run means fewer copies exist. A 1/1, also called a one of one, is the only copy of that card, and its price depends on the player and the product. Many parallels and autograph cards are numbered, and the number is part of how a seller describes the card.

Read the number as part of the listing. Check that the stamp is on the card and matches the run the listing states, and give both figures when you buy or sell, since two copies of one parallel can carry different numbers.
