Buyer protection
Buyer protection is a marketplace's policy of refunding a buyer whose order does not arrive or is not as described, with rules and filing deadlines that each marketplace sets for itself.
In more detail
eBay Money Back Guarantee covers the purchase price plus original shipping on eligible purchases when an item does not arrive or is not as described, with no extra fee. eBay asks you to contact the seller first and to come to eBay if the problem is not settled after three business days.
Deadlines differ, as each page read on October 12, 2026. TCGplayer Safeguard asks buyers to reach out within 30 calendar days of the estimated delivery date, and gives a full refund for a counterfeit card once the card reaches TCGplayer for checking. Whatnot Buyer Protection gives sports card and trading card buyers 7 days from delivery, or 30 days from purchase if that comes first, and 30 days from receipt for an item thought to be fake.
Read the conditions before you need them. On eBay, certain payment methods must be used and every eligibility rule and deadline met, and Whatnot asks for a timely report and photos of the item and the packaging, and may ask you to mail the item back.
