Upper Deck has brought back NHL New Arrivals, its packs built around rookies who have just made their NHL debut, for the 2026-27 season. Upper Deck’s product page, updated on October 2, says the first packs arrive in the e-Pack store after the NHL season opens on September 29, 2026, with new releases through the season. On October 12, the e-Pack home page carried a news item saying one day was left to buy the 2026-27 New Arrivals card of Viggo Björck, so at least one release has gone on sale.
e-Pack is Upper Deck’s own site for buying and opening packs online. Upper Deck says buyers can request shipment of the physical cards from those packs whenever the cards are ready.
How a New Arrivals pack works
Upper Deck’s page sets out the steps.
- Buy a pack from the e-Pack store. Each release features one rookie and stays on sale for one week.
- Open it on the Open My Packs page, where the card shows straight away.
- Wait for the physical card. Upper Deck says it can ship about 12 to 16 weeks after the packs leave the store, and an email alert can be switched on in e-Pack Settings.
Every pack holds one base card of the featured rookie. Some packs add a second card: a Gold parallel at a card rate of 1:10, or, for select rookies only, an Auto parallel at 1:300. A discounted bundle holds 15 packs of the featured rookie plus a 16th pack with one Green parallel.
What changed from 2025-26
New Arrivals first appeared on e-Pack in the 2025-26 season. Upper Deck’s page for that edition, as archived in October 2025, gives a direct comparison.
| 2025-26 | 2026-27 | |
|---|---|---|
| Base card in every pack | 1 | 1 |
| Blue parallel | Extra card, 1:5 | Not listed as an extra card |
| Gold parallel | Extra card, 1:15 | Extra card, 1:10 |
| Auto parallel, select rookies | 1:500 | 1:300 |
| Bundle | 15 packs plus an extra pack with one Green parallel, on average | The same contents, at a discount |
| Time on sale | One week, stated for the first packs | One week for each release |
| Physical card ready to ship | About 10 to 14 weeks | About 12 to 16 weeks after packs leave the store |
Upper Deck now lists the Gold parallel at 1:10 and the Auto parallel at 1:300, against 1:15 and 1:500 on last season’s page. The 1:5 Blue extra card is no longer listed. The quoted wait for the physical card is two weeks longer at each end, though the 2025-26 page did not say when that count began.
When the physical card ships
New Arrivals shows the card at once and ships the physical card later. The gap is 12 to 16 weeks by Upper Deck’s estimate, which is roughly three to four months.
The one-week window means each release can be bought only for that week. The card rates are Upper Deck’s averages, which its season page says are not guaranteed in any single pack, and the Auto parallel appears only in packs of select rookies, so it is not part of every release.
What to do
- Turn on shipping alerts in e-Pack Settings so you hear when your physical cards can ship.
- Check the e-Pack store listing for the featured rookie before you buy, since only select players’ packs include an Auto parallel.
- Check what e-Pack charges for shipping before you request the physical cards.
- Our guide to how online pack opening works explains the buy, reveal and ship steps on rip sites, for comparison.
- See parallel and rookie card in our glossary for the terms used here.
How we checked
The 2026-27 details come from Upper Deck’s New Arrivals page, which carries an update date of October 2, 2026, its season page and its e-Pack home page, all read on October 12, 2026. The 2025-26 figures come from Upper Deck’s own New Arrivals page as the Internet Archive stored it on October 25, 2025, a copy whose own markup dates it October 22, 2025.
