Upper Deck introduced Moments on September 30, 2026, bringing event-based physical cards to e-Pack. Each purchase includes its featured base card, while additional versions arrive at different stages.
The program opened with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard. As of October 23, 2026, packs started at $6.99, with autograph versions restricted to select releases.
Base and Gold at opening, numbered cards later
Upper Deck’s Moments program details set out the purchase sequence as of October 23, 2026. The pack includes the selected moment’s base card, which appears when the buyer opens it.
Gold is an additional card, with a published rate of 1:10 packs. Buyers see any Gold addition during opening; it does not replace the base card.
The numbered versions come through a separate allocation after the sales window closes. Upper Deck adds them at random to selected pack buyers’ collections.
Red versions are numbered to 25, while Blue versions are numbered to 10. Black versions carry 1-of-1 numbering.
Select releases also offer autograph versions numbered to 5 and Black autograph versions numbered 1-of-1. Those autograph options belong to the later allocation, not the opening-stage Gold selection.
A buyer opening a pack without Gold still takes part in the later numbered-card allocation. Purchasing a release with autograph options does not ensure an autograph card.
The base card is the standard inclusion. Gold is subject to the published card rate, and numbered cards remain subject to the post-sale assignment.
Bouchard’s record supplied the launch card
Yahoo Sports dates Bouchard’s season-opening performance to September 29, 2026. He recorded 5 points, becoming the first NHL defenseman to reach that total in a season opener.
Upper Deck also cited his hat trick. He scored a hat trick in a season opener, becoming the first defenseman to do so in 46 years.
The company introduced Moments 1 day after that performance. The launch paired a specific event with a named base-card subject and additional versions of that same moment.
The inaugural release included a Black autograph version featuring blue ink and gold-colored numbering. It belonged to Bouchard’s release.
A shared format across Moments releases
Moments replaces Upper Deck’s separate event-based products for hockey, matches, racing and surfing with a common brand. The company also specified a shared design and product structure.
Upper Deck planned the initial rollout around NHL highlights. PWHL cards were to follow as that league began its season, with more sports and entertainment subjects planned afterward.
The program covers rookie debuts, records and major events. Across those subjects, Upper Deck describes the same base, Gold and numbered-card structure, with autographs limited by release.
Physical delivery requires a shipment request
Moments cards can remain in the buyer’s e-Pack collection or be traded with other collectors. Buyers can request shipment of their physical cards, or sell through connected retailer The Authority.
The $6.99 starting figure observed on October 23, 2026, is a pack price. It is not a stated total for physical delivery.

What to do
- Check whether the selected Moments release offers autograph versions before including them among its possible numbered cards.
- Confirm the release’s sales closing date, since numbered-card assignment follows that cutoff.
- Ask for the shipping and redemption charges for the selected Moments cards, plus any release-specific conditions for requesting physical delivery.
