Near Mint

Near Mint is the best condition a seller can give a raw card: almost unmarked, with at most tiny wear. It is a seller's description, not a grade from a grading company.

Also called NM.

In more detail

On TCGplayer, a Near Mint card shows very little wear from handling and only a few minor flaws. Other sellers set their own limits, so a Near Mint card at one shop may be stricter than at another.

Rip.fan's card price pages headline the Near Mint market price from Scrydex, because it is the condition most buyers compare first. Prices for the lower steps are lower, and the gap grows as the wear does.

Near Mint is not a grading company's grade. A graded card is a separate item with its own number from 1 to 10, and CGC even uses the words Near Mint inside its own scale, for a card it grades 7.
