Qualifier
A qualifier is a short code after a grade, such as PSA 8 (OC), that names the one flaw that kept the card from a higher grade.
In more detail
On a PSA label a qualifier sits in brackets after the number. The usual codes are OC for off-center, ST for staining, MC for miscut, PD for print defect, MK for marks and OF for out of focus. The card is otherwise the grade shown, and the code names the exception.
Buyers usually pay less for a qualified card than for the same grade without one, and how much less depends on the card and the flaw. Submitters can ask the grader to leave qualifiers off, and the card then simply gets the lower grade it would get without the exception.
Read the code before you compare prices. A PSA 8 (OC) and a plain PSA 8 are different items, and the sales that match yours are those with the same grade and the same qualifier.
